3 Tips To Boost Your Child’s Tennis Scores
Posted in: Blog | Published on: July 5, 2021 | Written By: adminFace it- if you have a kid learning tennis, you want them to do well. And chances are, they want to, too. But it can be hard to get a boost when you don’t know where to start. Here are 3 tennis tips you can implement to help boost your child’s match scores and maybe even get them further in the competition.
Tip #1 – Practice Makes Perfect
The best way to become your best at any sport, even tennis, is always practice. Find a way to help your child make a dedicated schedule for the week, and make sure to keep your practices pencilled in at regular intervals. Making sure that you’ve got scheduled practice time will help your child learn their skills, even when they’re out of the classroom.
Tip #2 – Keep Water and Snacks on hand
One of the best ways to keep your player going is making sure that they have plenty of energy, and they don’t get dehydrated. Don’t spring for soda or candy on the sidelines, though- go for water or sporty drinks, accompanied by a snack with a lot of protein, like a granola bar or nuts. Plus, knowing they’ve got a snack and a hug waiting for them after a bad match can boost your player’s spirits more than anything else.
Tip #3 – Start Stretching
Encourage your player to start a warm-up, cool-down routine when they practice. It’s crucial to warm the muscles up before doing anything too strenuous, and also getting them back out of exercise mode once you’re done. Stretches are a great way to do this- gentle at first, and then as you get warmed up, practice a little further. Doing stretches before and after practice can also increase your player’s flexibility, which can help them on the court.
