After School Dancing

The Foxtrot, the Waltz, the Tango – doesn’t sound like the conversation you might have with your child during after school pick up, does it? It absolutely could be with our new Dancing program.
Yes! Dancing for Kids.
Absolutely! An early introduction to a variety of physical activities is always going to have a positive impact on a child’s life. Tennis, swimming, and team sports all fit into that idea, but one physical activity you may not have considered for your child could be the introduction to a fun, healthy hobby he or she can carry throughout life – Dancing.
There are many reasons to consider Dancing for your child.
- A Seriously Good Workout: Dance is the perfect way to improve your child’s strength and flexibility. It can help with stamina, which is essential in other sports, as well as your child’s coordination. If you’re looking for a way to amp up your child’s physical activity without adding a traditional workout into his or her schedule, this is the way to do it.
- A Chance to Interact with Others: Communication and social skills aren’t always a priority today, but our Dancing classes are the perfect way to help encourage those in your child. Kids work with other participants in the class to continually communicate with each other. That can lead to a stronger sense of trust. More than that, though, it may help to eliminate some performance anxiety in front of others
- A Unique Skill Set: Not every kid has a unique item to add to their skillset, but dancing is a good way to offer them a chance to express their natural feel for music as well as a way to express themselves.

- Each session begins with a warm up to help get our students moving. The whole point is to ensure a fun, safe start to our dance class.
- We move on to some fun instructions for each of the dance steps. We’ll talk about the different types of dances, where they came from, and what makes them unique. Each of our students will learn the techniques and styling necessary to pull off each step.
- We end with putting those steps into practice. Students will not only learn which dances match which themes, but the rhythms and time signatures that belong with each dance.
