Tone Up For Tennis With These Three Exercises
Posted in: Blog | Published on: January 4, 2021 | Written By: adminEveryone wants to be the strongest they can be- but in tennis, what really matters are your arms. Training your arms can be both difficult and time consuming, and it can be hard to find the right gym for the job. But here’s some exercise advice to keep you fit and trim for the court.
Planks
These used to be a fad, but now they’re great for a workout. Planks are one of the easiest exercises you can do, but they’re harder than they look. To hold your plank properly, lay on your stomach and hoist yourself up on your toes and your elbows. Keep as straight as you can, and hold that position for as long as you can! Planks are great because they can help to tense your muscles- but they don’t make the tiny tears along them that help your muscles get longer.
Extended Pushups
This isn’t just an arm exercise- it’s a workout for your whole body. While you start in the planking position, slowly raise yourself up into a tall pushup with your arms straight up, supporting your weight. Then lower down, and continue your ‘extended pushups’ until you’re finished. Extended pushups can work out your arms, back, legs, and even your abs.
Wall Push-Offs
This one is the one where you stand up! Stand a few feet back from the walls, with your toes pointed towards it, and lean up to the wall. When you’re in position, you should be on your tip-toes, with your forehead to the wall. This is basically a pushup against the wall, with an angle, and it can help stretch the same muscles.
